Insert rubber spacers into Motion Synth Grip

If you are using Model #1 of the Motion Synth Grip (iPhone 4s, 5, 5s, 5c, SE, and iPod touch), then follow the video instructions below.

If you are using Model #2 of the Motion Synth Grip (iPhone 6, 6s, and 7), the rubber spacers are not required, and you can skip directly to inserting your iPhone into the Motion Synth Grip.

Video Instructions:

  • WARNING - iPhone 5C users: If your iPhone 5C does not feel secure when using the thinnest bumper type, either switch to the next thicker bumper size or adjust the Grip frame to achieve a tighter fit.
  • Never use your iPhone within the Motion Synth Grip unless it is being securely held in place!

Written Instructions:

  • The rubber bumpers pictured above allow the Motion Synth grip to be compatible with devices of different thicknesses.
  • One bumper is absent in the picture above to show the location of one of the bumper holes.
  • While these bumpers are held firmly in place (especially when an iPhone or iPod touch is inserted), they can be inserted or removed by hand with a twisting action.

  • Included with your Motion Synth Grip are three packets of four different sizes of rubber bumper.
  • Select the bumper type that matches your iPhone or iPod touch model as shown in the image below

  • »WARNING - iPhone 5C users«: If your iPhone 5C does not feel secure when using the thinnest bumper type, either switch to the next thicker bumper size or adjust the Grip frame to achieve a tighter fit. Do not use your iPhone within the Motion Synth Grip unless it is being securely held in place!
  • Once you have selected the correct bumper type, insert the bumpers into the egg-shaped holes with the flat side of the bumper facing the area your iPhone or iPod touch will occupy.
  • Insertion can be achieved by inserting the head of the bumper into the hole at a slight angle and then twisting and pushing the bumper inwards.

If device is not being held tightly enough by your Motion Synth Grip don't worry: Part of the Grip's lightweight aluminium design is that it is intended to undergo fine adjustments to give a more precise fit depending on the device.

You may find that some other fine adjustments are also necessary to get the rotating parts to rest perfectly in place. We will soon be providing instructions in this wiki on how to make these fine adjustments.
