Has anyone used AUUG with MainStage and Logic Pro X yet? Seems it should map nicely.
Thanks! :ugeek:

Thanks for bringing this up!

As a general rule of thumb, if you wish to use the AUUG Motion Synth to control the sound of a software musical instrument, it is best to use sounds that are generated through synthesis rather than sampling. Except where special methods are used, it is difficult to manipulate the features of a sample in a detailed and responsive way.

For comparison, try these two different example use cases we have provided:

GarageBand 'Strings': http://auug.info/wiki/doku.php/public/p ... t_3_-_demo

Reaktor 'Bowed Strings': http://auug.info/wiki/doku.php/public/b ... les_of_use

GarageBand is using samples, while the 'Bowed Strings' Reaktor is using synthesis. You can hear that the Reaktor sound is very responsive and detailed by comparison, and does not need to have the motion input to it smoothed in order to sound good.

Audio software also differs in the depth at which you are able to adjust parameters in real time.

Thus it is very worthwhile using trials of software to assist in assessing compatibility with the Motion Synth prior to purchasing the software.
