Re: My Quick AUUG Demo
@Matt: Amazing video! Thanks so much for sharing!
That is a fantastically lush sound you have setup, and the chord memorizer is a great addition for this. Some Kontakt instruments also have a chord generator built in which some users might find helpful.
The video editing and software close ups you have included are also really helpful for illustrating your setup.
Your mapping of Forearm Rotation () to CC 1 (mod wheel) of the string sounds is awesome for both expressive control and performance.
Looking at your style of playing, we were wondering if you had experimented with using Up-Down or Left-Right Motion () to control CC 1? For particular applications this could match your performance style well and leave Forearm Rotation available for an additional type of expressive control. For example, crossfading between your tremelo and non-tremelo strings. An example of crossfading between instruments can be seen in this recent demo: https://youtu.be/SDkFKbJrVag and explanation: https://youtu.be/eRThh4DIKXA
If you find the changes produced by Up-Down or Left-Right Motion () are too rapid, you could use a high smoothing value to make the changes more gradual. The smoothing parameter of the "Send Continuous Controller (CC) MIDI Messages" module is mentioned in this video: http://auug.info/wiki/doku.php/public/m ... i_messages
Thanks again for taking the time to create and post this; such a great video!

It's fantastic! I love this. I have to learn so much and have so little time ...

@Basi Multitrack: Very glad to hear this info is useful to you!
If you have not already, make sure to give this a try:
http://auug.info/wiki/doku.php/public/b ... r_ensemble
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6
It is free (through use with the free Reaktor Player) and allows much more detailed control than is possible with string sounds in iOS GarageBand for example. It is a monophonic however, and would not be effective at producing the wonderfully lush harmonies that mattskopyk has setup in the above video.
